Live Edge Slab Dining Room Tables

Transform Your Dining Area.

Gather Around a Stunning, Custom Live Edge Dining Room Table

The dining room table is where your family reconnects and traditions are passed down over golden rolls and a bowl of mashed potatoes. Give your family the perfect place to celebrate their victories, share their days, and reconnect with a handcrafted dining table from Lancaster Live Edge. Our team can customize your live edge table to give you a product that matches your taste and is as unique as your family. All of the live edge slabs we use to manufacture these tables are cut in-house at our sawmill facility and then built into custom tables at our remote location just miles away.

Design Your Dream Dining Table: Customization Options

At Lancaster Live Edge, we are obsessed with crafting quality tables your family will enjoy. From sizes to finishes, we will walk you through a five-step selection process to help you create a custom live edge dining table.

Tabletop Shapes and Sizes

We create dining room tables ranging from 4 feet to 10 feet. If you want something larger or smaller, our Amish woodworkers can tailor-cut a slab for you. As far as shapes go, we offer four main categories:

    • Rectangle: Set the table for large parties with our live edge wood dining room table. The rectangular tables are perfect for larger or narrower rooms.
    • Square: Bring family closer with a table designed for intimate seating. Our square tables are ideal for square dining areas hosting a small dinner party.
    • Circle: Create a cozy dining space with a circular table ideal for smaller spaces.
    • Oval: Maximize a smaller space to accommodate a large party with an oval table.

Crafted With Care: The Making of a Lancaster Live Edge Dining Table

We follow a simple and sustainable manufacturing process backed by local expertise:

  • Sourcing and milling: Our logs are sustainably sourced and milled at our sister company, Beiler's Sawmill, focusing on eco-friendly practices that protect our local woodlands. We use different cutting methods to achieve your desired slab look. The circular slabs, known as "cookies" or "discs," are crosscut, while the longer live edge slabs are rip cut.
  • Drying: Once cut, the slabs undergo an extensive waiting period before they are ready for use. They are air-dried for two years or more before moving to the kiln, where they spend a month. This intricate drying process ensures the slabs will not easily warp or crack during construction.
  • Planing and sanding: The slabs are transported to our manufacturing facility, where they are planed using our Wood-Mizer slab flattener. This ensures a smooth and finished surface. Next, we use a wide belt sander to remove the large bumps from the slab. After belt sanding, we use an orbital sander to further level the surface.
  • Construction and finishing: We cut the table to size, ensuring it meets your specifications. The last step for the live edge tabletop is to finish the slab with stain or oil to give it some additional character. We can also mold the table in epoxy if you want a perfect square or rectangular table. Finally, we install the legs based on your selection.
